As they travel west, the Outlaws face off against the dangers of the new DCU: ancient, terrifying monsters set on their trail by Those Who Walk Behind the Scenes, mysterious beings who seek to regain absolute control over the newborn universe of their creation. LOL-bdell is but one member of the evil alliance led, rumor has it, by the ruthless D. Idiot, an extra-villainous villain ultimately responsible for the character assassination of countless innocents. Our heroes must fight their way through ancient ninja sects, ancient -zombie- ninja sects, unlikely ghosts and hey, is that a sparkly vampire?! But little do they know, their next foes are stronger than they can imagine and already close behind them!

Haha, well, karma hated me this month. I had to redo this three times because Photoshop and GIMP kept crashing (so forgive the sloppy coloring, I got extremely impatient!), then my laptop broke. Funny, in the last few days my cell phone also broke, my favorite purse too!

So....November's comics. Red Hood and the Outlaws #3. A vast improvement on issues #1 and #2, but only because Lobdell is starting to get Jason's voice and I really liked his Robin!Jason. Now that was a well-written scene. Roy is still out of character and coming off as a wimpy idiot though, and Starfire isn't Starfire. Please everyone open your issues of New Teen Titans. When she first appeared, Kory was indeed a fierce warrioress who more often than not just wanted to blast her enemies apart. The team spent most of their time telling her to control her powers and temper. The thing is, she valued compassion. She wouldn't have blasted a soldier who was showing her kindness. But let's put that down to her being a child, therefore impulsive. I tell you what she would never, EVER have done, and that is- yell "sanctimonious puss". Huh? That one panel left me mouthing silently like a fish for a whole minute, no kidding. Starfire might call you cruel, arrogant, evil, and refer to you as 'creature', 'man','monster' or whatever, but ...correct me if I'm mistaken because I can't be sure...I'm under the impression she has never called anyone a "puss" since she was created in the Eighties. Or even used any other offensive term (though she might have sworn in Tamaranean occasionally). That, added to the fact that she doesn't employ sarcasm and finds it incredibly difficult to lie, contributes to making DCnU Starfire the polar opposite of her old self. Argh, during that bit about Starfire's memory she was more in character than she's been since September, then it was spoilt by her yelling and randomly killing the guy. Sigh. But like I said, vast improvement from issue #1.

On a sidenote, what the heck is up with Killer Croc acting like he's Roy's therapist? I'm scratching my head here.

On to Teen Titans. I'm afraid I've more or less dropped the series, I just flip through the book looking for Superboy. The writing screams 90s, the art BELLOWS 90s, Tim isn't the Tim I know, Wonder Girl should stick to being a good girl because her supposed badass-ness is about as convincing as Tim's wings. It doesn't feel like Teen Titans, more like young X-Men. They should rename the series X-treme Titans and be done with it.

BUT.

Superboy is good. Issue 3 was mostly okay. I did 'meh' at Rose, who's boring me as of now. And these telepathic powers she suddenly has are just one more big wtf. What happened to her good old precog? I read somewhere that along the road she might get her eye patch and codename back, that's what I'm holding out for. Remember to give back her spark of insanity too! If she isn't slightly crazy she isn't Rose Wilson.

Superboy himself I'm actually finding interesting. I dislike the art, unfortunately, but Booth makes up for it by drawing a good (if Nineties-style) Superboy in Teen Titans. That bit with Superboy and the girl he rescued misunderstanding each other actually made me laugh.

Also I got my laptop back, yay!!!
